The air is cooler, the day is shorter, and just like that it seems Christmas-Time has come again! As our community is getting ready to put away the scare crows and pull out the holly and mistletoe we want to take a minute to remind everyone that the Blacksburg Christmas Parade will be Saturday December 14th at 3pm!
There is no admission for parade entrance. If your business or organization would like to be a part of the parade as a walking group, float, decorated vehicle, etc just call Town Hall and speak to Debbie Mullinax to let her know that you plan to be in the lineup!
The Christmas Parade is a long standing community tradition in the Town of Blacksburg. It’s a great way for new businesses to advertise their presence as well as for civic organizations and charites to recruit new members or announce upcoming events.
In recent years the Christmas Parade has also been the forerunner to an event hosted by the Blacksburg Business Association called “Christmas On The Square.” This event has a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Clause open to the public and the Town of Blacksburg joins in the party by sponsoring a craft-making opportunity for children waiting in line to meet Santa.
These events will return this year and will be hosted in the Town Civic Center (AKA The FireTruck Museum) at 101 N Shelby Street.
The Town of Blacksburg and the Blacksburg Business Association have a few surprise additions to Christmas On The Square for 2019 that we look forward to announcing soon.
Stay tuned for the official schedule of events and don’t forget to call Debbie at Town Hall to register your group to be a part of the 2019 Christmas Parade!
